This villa
is located in a peaceful location in the mountains with
beautiful sea views yet within walking distance of the historic town of Maratea.
Situated on the side of Monte S.Biagio, Maratea is a picturesque hilltown of Greek
origins with reddish, terracotta
roofs where you will find a mixture of handicraft shops, designer shops and
inviting restaurants. Narrow, winding
alleyways in the old centre pass under ancient arches leading to well worn steps
where you will discover tiny, hidden churches. Moving away from the
coast you will discover ancient hill top towns and villages in the mountains
such as Trecchina from where you can admire amazing views of the entire valley.
Within easy reach of Maratea is the beautiful Pollino National park, offering a
variety of landscapes, traditions and wildlife. Just a few kilometres from the
villa is the stunning Tyrennian coastline, offering a variety of sandy and
pebbly beaches or you can relax at Maratea's port with its quayside cafes and
restaurants. Other interesting towns to visit in the area
include Matera, famous for its “sassi” ancient caves built into the rock
and Paestum with its temples in Campania.
The villa
has been equipped and furnished to a very high standard, surrounded by private, landscaped gardens with a
swimming pool (10 x 5 metres). (The shallowest part of
the pool is 60cm.) Bordering the pool is a patio area with barbeque, a shady
portico with comfortable seating and there is also a hammock in the gardens. The villa has a
fully equipped gymnasium along with pool table, table tennis, badminton,
bicycles, books, board games. Cot available upon request.

Fontanina - extra en-suite ground floor double bedroom (sleeps 2) charged extra

Lower floor : Wine cellar and garage
Ground floor : Entrance from a covered portico, with outdoor furniture into a
dining area. Large archway leads to a comfortable sitting room with large
settees and an open fireplace (Television, Stereo system, telephone, fax and
internet connection). Fully equipped kitchen with 1 electric oven, 1 gas oven,
dishwasher, washing machine, cooking hob, microwave, fridge/freezer.
Door from the dining room leads to one double bedroom (can be made into a twin).
Both downstairs bedrooms have direct access to outside terrace. Hairdryers in
all bedrooms. En-suite bathroom with shower. One small bedroom with bunk beds.

Fontanina - separate en-suite double bedroom - (charged extra if used otherwise
it will not be available)
First floor: Internal stairs lead to the first floor. One double bedroom with
doors leading to a furnished terrace. En-suite bathroom with shower. One
quadruple bedroom with double bed (this can be made into twin beds), and bunk
beds. Door from this room leads to an external stairway to the ground floor. En-suite bathroom with shower and bath.
Cottage - (sleeps 6/7)
1 x twin bedroom with en-suite shower room. 2 x double bedroom each with
en-suite shower room. Separate bathroom. Lounge with sofa, sofabed, stereo, TV.
Kitchen and dining room with oven, hob, microwave, washing machine, iron. There
is a BBQ in the cottage's own garden.
