One of Italy's
most beautiful & unspoilt regions, Puglia has rightly been called the
'breadbasket' of Italy and is renowned for its wealth of cultural & artistic events,
historical sites and fascinating old towns to visit, not to mention the
hospitality of the people. Traditional agriculture and fishing still flourish
in this part of Italy which is rightly famous for its cuisine, olive oil and wine.

The 'Trulli' themselves are remarkable examples of limestone dwellings that have
been built using the prehistoric technique, still in use in the southern region
of Puglia, of drywall (mortarless) construction. They are made of roughly worked
limestone boulders collected from neighbouring fields & characteristically
they feature pyramidal, domed or conical roofs built up of corbelled limestone
slabs. Cool in summer & warm in winter they are the perfect holiday home for
exploring the surrounding area, visiting the coast or simply relaxing by the
pool!
